We’re going to the Online Retailer Industry Awards!

We’re super excited that our client INTERSPORT Australia has been announced as a finalist in the “Best In-Store Initiative” category in this year’s Online Retail Industry Awards. Congrats to the INTERSPORT and stockinstore teams for being recognised.

stockinstore will be at the Online Retailer Conference in Sydney 25th – 26th July 2018. Come and see us at stall 1008. We’d love to chat about how stockinstore is helping retailers compete with the likes of Amazon!

The Project

INTERSPORT Australia is a member-owned sporting retail franchise group, with the number one focus of the support office to provide its members with the best opportunities to set them up for future success. They have 45 members with 65 stores geographically distributed around regional, rural and metropolitan Australia. They understand that a significant percentage of purchase decisions start with online browsing.

Their number one priority was to build a market-leading website with online shopping to follow, but the missing link was connecting their customers around the country to get visibility of their store’s stock levels. This would enable their current and potential new customers with the ability to within a few clicks, see if their local store has stock available.

From there, the customer can click and reserve the stock, ensuring the customer has a great experience. INTERSPORT Australia’s new website launched in March 2018, with e-commerce following in May 2018. The vision for INTERSPORT Australia is to give the customer a world-class online experience, while also having local relationship with their local store.

Technologies Used

INTERSPORT chose stockinstore because it was the only solution with the flexibility to handle the complexities of stock availability across a franchise group including stores on different Point of Sale systems. Another benefit is that it also links stores who have poor stock control or aren’t actively involved in the solution. In there cases, it manages the customer’s expectations by prompting them to “contact store”.

Execution & Results

Since it launched, on average 13% of customers on our website are using stockinstore but that has been as high as 24% which is incredible affirmation, however what’s just as important is the feedback from INTERSPORT stores who are noticing customers walking into store or calling them directly after using stockinstore. “This is a great outcome for everyone but especially our customers because they know if their nearest store has the item in stock.

What’s even better, is we get a report that shows us what products, down to the colour & size, our customers are searching including the suburb/postcode locations they’re looking for those items, the date and time but most importantly, whether that item was available in that store. That’s incredible insight that helps us with measuring marketing effectiveness and our retail stores with product planning” Sven Karlsson, General Manager INTERSPORT Australia.
